Mrs Mary Ann Waldorf - Centre Cliff Lodge private hotel. (K 1924). Mrs Waldorf already runs the 'Marlborough Hotel' and a ladies hairdresser's at No 39 High Street.

Among Mrs Waldorf's tenants are believed to be Edward Wright and his wife, Geraldine who runs a dance studio in the basement until about 1930 when Edward becomes manager of Barclay's Bank at No 67 High Street and the couple move to an apartment above the bank.

In 1934, Mrs Waldorf purchases No 26 North Parade. This same year, she and her daughter, Muriel, are at the centre of an extraordinary set of events which hogs the tabloid headlines for months and comes to be popularly known as 'The Wenhaston Millions'.
